Well, lets begin our tutorial. I made it just because I recieve questions about technique I used in summer coctail several times a week and I’m completely exausted in my attmpts to answer.
Little advice in advance – tol stop asking questions like “How have you done such a cool pic” you should just begin to study 3Ds Max (or any analogue – Cinema $D, Maya, Lightwave, Blender, etc.) and Photoshop (without alternatives 🙂 You won’t be able to do the Thing without skills in using those tools. This tutorial (as well as any other) will only teach you to replicate one particular work (f.e. “Summer Coctail”), but you wont find your original style this way. Tou better should buy (or download pdf, or steal from your neighbor) any newbie coursebook on subject and read it through. It wont be pointless to read tutorials only after you would complete with that reading.

milkin а с чего вы взяли что буржуи лепят шедевры по уроку айвинда??? можно было догадаться? что этот буржуй http://jesar.deviantart.com/gallery/ делает свои работы с 2004 года а урок был написан на английском в 2007? и как долго уважаемый айвинд работает в таком стиле?? от силы года 2 и за эти 2 года он сделал большой прорыв в этой техники, но буржуи есть буржуи и они еще в прошлом веке удивляли людей, а вы удивились только этим летом =)

Why not do the whole piece in Photoshop? I know the advantage of 3D studio is that you can make more renders out of the scene just by changing the camera but i think it would have been faster in Photoshop.
